ALIGN-CCUS Webinar 2 – CCUS as an element for large-scale energy storage and conversion

This is the second in our series of webinars from the ALIGN-CCUS project and will provide an overview of current and planned activities in Work Package 4 (WP4): CO2 Re-use.

This area of research combines an industrial-scale carbon capture and utilisation (CCU) pilot demonstration with applied research to gain insights into the technical, economic and environmental attributes of fuel synthesis using captured CO2. As a global, first-of-a-kind project, ALIGN-CCUS will build and test a fully integrated CCU chain at pilot scale in a real industrial environment.

The webinar will feature short presentations by WP4 leader, Dr Peter Moser of RWE, and other members of the WP4 research team, followed by an interactive Q&A session. Topics that will be covered include:

  • Introduction to WP4 and the case for CCU, Dr Peter Moser, RWE Power
  • The development of the CCU demonstrator, Dr Muhammad Majid, MHPSE
  • Engine adaptation needs for operation with CCU derived fuels, Dr Hermann-Josef Laumen, FEV
  • Integration and scale up of CCU technology, Dr Stefanie Troy, FZ Jülich

We look forward to your participation but, if you are unable to join us, the webinar recording will be uploaded here in due course. A recording of our first webinar – an introduction to the ALIGN-CCUS project – is already available, under "Older Events".
