ALIGN-CCUS Webinar 5 - Development of CO2 storage networks for industrial clusters

The fifth webinar from the ALIGN-CCUS project looked at the crucial issue of developing the storage networks that will handle CO2 emissions from European clusters of industrial activity.

WEBINAR RECORDING

Our speakers shared results from their work to date, with a focus on:

  • A unique CO2 storage readiness assessment protocol to accelerate the definition of storage capacity;
  • Infrastructure re-use and network development in the Netherlands, including injection rates for storage in depleted gas fields and network design;
  • Development of a storage hub in Norway, including storage options at Smeaheia and in the Johansen Formation and evaluation of potential infrastructure re-use for a Horda Platform storage hub.

The webinar will feature presentations by:

- Maxine Akhurst, British Geological Survey, UK (Work Package 3 lead)

- Filip Neele, TNO, The Netherlands

- Alv-Arne Grimstad, SINTEF, Norway
