Yara is Europe's largest ammonia producer and the leading carbon dioxide and dry ice producer. Its European distribution network includes three ships and several terminals. Yara’s ammonia plant in Porsgrunn is also one of three Norwegian point sources, which have been identified by the Norwegian Government as being of interest for a full scale CO2 capture project. This plant is located at a short distance from one of the other three sources (Norcem) and also possibly within a reasonable distance from the third source (Klemetsrud waste incinerator in Oslo). Yara is interested in the entire ALIGN-CCUS project, but particularly in CO2 capture and in potential industry cluster advantages.
