Leiden University, founded in 1575, is one of Europe’s leading international research universities. The Social and Organisational Psychology department, which will be involved in the project, focuses on the application of scientific psychological knowledge of social processes within and between groups of people and individuals to address issues in larger society.
The department is internationally renowned for its work examining factors which influence public perception of CCS. For over a decade, researchers of the Department of Social and Organisational Psychology have coordinated and conducted quantitative and qualitative social science research in large CCS programmes, such as CATO (2004-2014) and FENCO ERA-NET (2009-2010). Its researchers are also members of the GHGT Expert Review Panel and the International Energy Agency Greenhouse Gas Social Research Network Steering Committee.
